Superfly Funk and Soul Christmas Special

WHISPER it quietly but the festive season is fast approaching.

And Christmas is coming early thanks to Superfly Funk and Soul Belfast!
Because on December 7, you get the chance to sample a double helping of festive frolics.
Italian giants the Link Quartet headline at the Oh Yeah Centre.
And support comes from our very own The Organauts.
Most of "those in the know" will already know all about The Organauts.
But for those yet to enjoy their delights, the Superfly website brings you a bit of background on the band.
The Hammond trio play a heady mix of instrumental soul, garage and rock"n" roll.
Guitarist is Jeroen Bauwens who hails from Ghent in Belgium.
He has played with The Secret Agent Men and The Wrong amongst others.
Organ player Eleanor McClean has played keyboards from Belfast to Belgium.
She honed her skills playing all over Europe including stints with The Gonks (Antwerp) and Speedball Jr (Ghent).
Drummer is Chipper Robinson who has a long history in Northern Ireland's punk and alternative scene.
Formed four years ago, this three piece has gone from strength to strength since their formation.
They have opened for Kid Congo Powers and the Pink Monkey Birds.
And as well as playing the Northern Ireland Mod Weekender three years in succession, they featured at the International Hammond Festival in Belgium last year.
So what can we expect in a few weeks time?
A night of great Hammond Groove with a melting pot of influences including Booker T & the M.G.'s, Jimmy McGriff, The MC5, Brian Auger, Jimmy Smith, The Sonics, Northern Soul and even 60's Jazz!
The Organauts are currently in the studio recording their eagerly awaited debut album.
In the meantime, don't miss the chance to see them up close and personal on December 7 in the iconic Oh Yeah Music Centre.
