16-Oct-2019 | The Mighty Mocambos

1st time in Belfast

We might not even have reached Halloween yet but here at Superfly we never rest on our laurels.

So much so in fact that today we announced a wonderful treat for the New Year!
Yes, the Mighty Mocambos are on their way to Belfast.
The Hamburg stars will play on January 25 and it's one to 'relish'.
Accompanying Pete on the decks for a night not to be missed will be Stephen Mills.
With tickets priced just £15, why waste time before they get snapped up (excellent stocking filler!!!).
Over the years the German stars have released dozens of singles and several albums.
Their latest release, "2066" (see our review section) is out this month.
Renowned as one of the top funk bands on the circuit, they have collaborated with heavyweights such as Afrikaa Bambaataa, Lee Fields and Kenny Dope.
They have also helped put the likes of Gizelle Smith and Caroline Lacaze on the map.
With a unique style and trademark sound, they are liked by peers, fans and critics alike.
It's this combination which distinguishes them from mere retro copy cats.
Regulars on the live scene, they have toured all over the world.
Now Belfast gets to enjoy the experience!
Expect plenty of blazing horns, soulful guitars, driving drums and bass lines - with an extra bit of quirkiness - when they rock up at the Oh Yeah Centre.
For a taster, treat yourself to a copy of "2066" (see reviews section).
This latest long player sets yet another cornerstone in their prolific career as a globally active instrumental funk outfit.
While maintaining their organic approach of recording musicians live on tape, they have refined their sound with a dramatic edge, hard hitting production and ventures into less obvious musical territory.
There's a diverse list of guests featured....Hip Hop pioneer Ice T, up and coming  MC JSwiss and golden girl Gizelle Smith.
But it's live where seeing is believing!
So get on the ball and get your tickets bought for a night of passion, energy, humour and joy.
